In my free time, I enjoy studying and learning about my ethnic heritage and family history. A significant part of that centres on my Carpatho-Rusyn background. They are a small and stateless minority group living in a region that straddles the borders of Slovakia, Poland, and Ukraine (and a small enclave in Serbia). This graphic explored the then recently released Slovakian census data to see how many people self-identified as Carpatho-Ruysn and just where they lived in Slovakia.
